Qué pasó

Residents in South Florida are reporting extensive delays and financial losses after paying substantial sums to ship vehicles to Cuba. These customers have yet to receive their cars or any reimbursement.

A group of affected individuals gathered outside an agency in southwest Miami-Dade County to demand answers.

Dónde y cuándo

The issue centers around services contracted in Miami-Dade County, with customers paying for shipments to Havana, Cuba.

Payments were made as early as August, and the expected delivery timeframe of two months has long passed, leaving clients in prolonged uncertainty.

Por qué es importante

This situation represents a significant financial burden and emotional distress for the individuals involved, many of whom have saved for years.

The lack of transparency and the potential for further accumulated costs, such as port storage fees, exacerbate the problem, impacting families who invested their hard-earned money.

Qué dicen las partes

Customers paid thousands of dollars to Lucero Service, an agency acting as an intermediary. According to clients, their vehicles are being held at the Port of Miami, incurring storage fees that some estimate exceed $11,000.

The owner of Lucero Service stated their company is an intermediary and the shipping responsibility lies with OK’s Charter, owned by Kenny Chávez. OK’s Charter claims they have not ceased operations and faced logistical delays, with some storage charges not being promptly communicated.

OK’s Charter also cited a bank review process that temporarily affected fund availability and the processing of refunds, which are now being individually evaluated with legal advice.

Qué viene ahora

Customers are demanding a concrete and transparent solution to recover their vehicles and investments.

The situation requires clear communication and resolution from both agencies involved to address the accumulated costs and ensure the delivery of the vehicles or appropriate compensation.
