The issues are affecting the entire island of Cuba. Reports from the Unión Eléctrica de Cuba (UNE) highlight that power outages occurred around the clock on Thursday, July 30, 2026. The most severe deficit reached 2,222 megawatts at 9:20 PM.
For the early hours of Friday, July 31, 2026, the estimated deficit was 1,840 megawatts, with a projected deficit of approximately 2,200 megawatts for the evening peak demand.
